The playbook

The pitch is a script. Here is the script.

Window sales in Utah runs on a script. It is decades old, it works, and it costs homeowners real money. Here is the whole thing, page by page, so you can hear it coming. We published it because we do not use it, and because the fastest way to kill a bad pitch is a homeowner who already knows the lines.

The number is fake on purpose

A certain kind of window pitch starts with a quote so high it makes your stomach drop. Something like an $18,000 quote for a job that was never going to cost that. The number is not a mistake. It is an anchor.

Then the discounts start. A manager gets called. A promotion gets remembered. An hour later the price is $11,000 if you sign tonight, and you feel like you won something.

You did not win something. The price was the lower number the whole time, or less. The only job the first number had was to make the second one feel like a gift. Real prices do not drop by thousands of dollars because you looked hesitant.

The manager call is theater

At some point the rep steps away to call the office. The manager, by pure luck, approves a one-time exception, just for you, just for this visit.

The call is scripted. The exception is the price they wanted from the start. What windows cost does not change between 7 and 9 on a Tuesday night. What changes is how tired you are.

The tax credit that no longer exists

The federal window tax credit expired December 31, 2025. It does not apply to windows installed in 2026. It still shows up in pitches anyway, quietly folded into the math at the bottom of the page.

If a quote leans on a federal credit, the total is wrong, and everything else on that page deserves a second look. The only window money that is real in Utah right now comes from two utility rebate programs, and their exact terms are public. The current numbers and conditions are on our rebates page, checked monthly.

The financing fog

Some pitches move fast from the price to the monthly payment. The payment sounds gentle. The structure underneath it sometimes is not.

Two questions cut through it. Does the deferred-interest period charge all the back interest if the balance is not cleared by the end date. And is the financed price the same number as the cash price. They should be the same number. When they are not, the financing is not a convenience, it is margin.

The three-hour sit

The longest window pitches are long on purpose. Somewhere in hour three, saying yes starts to feel like the only way to get your kitchen back.

Exhaustion is not a discount. A company that needs three hours to explain a window is not explaining, it is wearing you down. A real look at your windows takes minutes, and a real quote survives being slept on.

Nobody says who holds the license

Ask who actually installs the windows. Then ask whose name is on the contract, who backs the warranty, and whose Utah contractor license number is on the paperwork. Vague answers to those questions are the biggest red flag in this whole playbook.

Our answer, since we are asking you to hold everyone to this: Lone Peak Windows sells. A licensed Utah window dealer installs, holds your contract, backs the warranties, and handles any financing. You sign with that dealer directly, license number on the page, and we never touch your money.

Six questions that collapse a bad pitch

Run this list on us

We published the playbook because we do not run it. Ask us all six questions, slowly. You will get one real price that holds, the exact model and U-Factor in writing, and a licensed Utah dealer's name and license number on the contract you sign.

That is the whole pitch. It fits in three sentences because nothing in it needs a costume.

See what your glass actually qualifies for in the current Utah rebate terms, or get cost ranges and timelines straight from the FAQ. When you want eyes on your actual windows, call or text 385.208.9653. A walk-around takes minutes, and the number you get is the number.

The Lone Peak standard

Sold straight, or not at all.

Every job is installed, warrantied, and financed by a licensed Utah window dealer, and every customer signs directly with that dealer. Lone Peak Windows never touches your money. Every in-home sale comes with written three-day cancellation rights. And we only get paid when a deal is real, so nobody standing on your porch has a reason to pressure you into one that isn't.
